Are you feeling overwhelmed and exhausted from your daily routine?

If that's you? I have some great news since I will share 5 main activities that I undertake that help me relax when tired from work and household chores.

This activities will not only help relax your mind but also benefit your general health.

There's a catch.

Most of the said activities are outdoor ones. Hence you have to be open minded to try out new things if you're an indoor person.

Deal? Let's dive in!

1. Gardening

I know it might sound old school to some of you but gardening is a great way to relax and free your mind. A few minutes tending to crops, watching flowers blossom and earthly creatures roam about is epic.

The results of planting, nurturing and tending is fulfilling. According to an article by CNN, gardening is a great stress reliever when compared to other activities.

What I love most about this activity is I am able to get fresh veggies and fruits for use in my small kitchen garden. Make sure to use protective gear such as gardening gloves and knee pads to protect yourself.

Even if you don't have the space, there are other options to grow fruits and veggies such as the use of containers. So, try it today and observe an improvement!

2. Hiking

When I talk of hiking, many picture it as a strenuous activity. You know what? It doesn't have to be.

It is an activity that helps engaging with nature creating a relaxing feeling. Moreover, it not only works the brain but also fulfills the spirit.

Hiking aids in the release of norepinephrine and endorphins that aid in stress management.

3. Listening to Music

They say that music is food for the soul. It create a link to our emotions allowing relaxation and stress relief.

Slow and soothing music works best to steady our minds as it slows the heart rate, pulse and blood pressure.

It might be even better to sing along to the music to relieve tension faster.

Other ways to relax include;

Meditating
Having a conversation with friends and family
Go shopping
Watch a movie

The above are just a few ways to relax and take a step back from daily routines. Try them out today and mix things up to see what works for you.
